After an offseason full of the Los Angeles Rams selling Case Keenum as their franchise quarterback they go and trade the farm for the first overall pick. Carson Wentz has to be their target but Jared Goff is still an option. Either way their will be a rookie quarterback under center for the city of LA.
This trade is nothing but good news for the Ravens. With the Rams trading up it almost guarantees two quarterbacks going in the top-5. At worst (maybe better) if at sixth overall the Ravens have Goff or Wentz on the board it's big time trade bait. As of now let's assume Goff and Wentz are off the board, which is the most likely scenario.
The top five non-quarterback players in the draft are Jalen Ramsey, Myles Jack, Laremy Tunsil, Joey Bosa, and DeForest Buckner. Sure you can throw in Vernon Hargreaves, Ronnie Stanley and Ezekiel Elliott who have all been mocked to the Ravens. It really doesn't matter which player you want the Ravens to take or who's being mocked to the team at six. All that matters is the Ravens weren't going to draft a quarterback and the Rams trading up to number one is a huge win. It guarantees a player that might not have fallen to the Ravens yesterday now becoming available.
With a front office run by Ozzie Newsome and company the Ravens have dominated the draft since 1996. Ozzie has to be grinning ear to ear with the news this morning. He is one of the best at working out a trade or taking the best player available.
