It's summer! It's a three day weekend! Here's what the Charm City Sports Network staff likes to listen to on those warm summer nights drinking on the beach, the boat, or the back porch. Enjoy!
Slightly Stoopid, "2am"
Not sure how I stumbled upon this song. It was probably a Dirty Heads Pandora station or something but it's stuck with me. Reminds me of sitting somewhere tropical drinking a Corona......or hanging out with my old friend Kevin Brown. It could probably be on a 10 hour loop and I wouldn't notice. Perfect background music for summer activities.......both alcohol and medicinal related.
Jagged Edge, "Where The Party At?"
This is summer to me. Barcardi, Girls, Parties... Ok so that was Summer for me about 15 years ago. Now I'm two kids deep and my summers consists of floaties and baby lotion. At least I'll always have this song...
Justin Timberlake, "Can't Stop The Feeling"
This is the only answer.
LOCASH, "I Love This Life"
On a boat, at the beach, just being outside on a warm summer day or night. All these make you say is "man I love this life", making this an easy choice for my go to summer jam.
The Wanted, "Glad You Came"
The summer of 2012 was one of the best summers for Orioles baseball as attendance rose with the birds playing their best baseball since 1997. It was a great feeling that I wish I could of bottled up as it was the ultimate payoff for those of us who remained fans during the "dark ages". The song has become an Orioles summer favorite.
Hootie and the Blowfish, "Time"
Way back in summer of 2005ish, they threw together a free concert in downtown Rockville. One of my all time favorite bands.
Craig Morgan, "Redneck Yacht Club"
Maybe it's my Pasadena roots showing but nothing says "summer" to me like beers on the bay. Regular Joe's just rocking the boat, that's us.
Twista ft. Kanye West & Jamie Foxx, "Slow Jamz"
Taking it way back to the days when MTV actually played music videos. This has always been on my summer playlists because it's got a nice blend of R&B and hip hop and who doesn't love the combo of Twista, Kanye West, and Jamie Foxx.
Bryan Adams, "Summer of '69"
The Drifters, "This Magic Moment"
Nothing says summer to me like baseball, and This Magic Moment conjures up images of The Sandlot, an iconic baseball movie. Who can forget when Squints kissed Wendy Peffercorn?!
Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness, "Cecilia and The Satelite"
One of the smoothest summer jams I've found. When you're heading back from a buddy's house at 1am on a great summer night this is an easy go to pick.
Major Lazer, "Light It Up"
This song has that awesome island EDM vibe that I always reminds me of beach trips with friends. You literally can't help but want to dance and be in a good mood with this song!
Hank Williams Jr, "Country Boys Can Survive"
The Rolling Stones, "Tumbling Dice"
This song truly captures the spirit of spontaneity, almost like consuming the feels of a last-minute summer road trip in a bottle.
Nothing says summer and chilling like Sublime for me. So many memories of being at a bar late night when this song came on and most of the place singing along. Definitely reminds me of good times with good people.
Florida Georgia Line, "Sun Daze"
This song creates the amazing feeling of being on a beach or in a pool with a beer in my hand, with cornhole and drinking games going on off to the side. It makes for a perfect Sunday Funday -- and, let's be honest -- that's what we all want this summer.
The Knocks, "Classic"
This is my go-to summer song. Driving down a long road with the windows down headed to a buddy's BBQ. I would have the speakers bumping for this one.
