Hey guys, its back! No, not the sun, its your favorite sneaker column. I know, until this past week it feels like the sun hadn't been out since March, but is we're into June and summer is here. Since June has arrived, you know what that means, it is time for the NBA Finals. There is no bigger stage, so expect Lebron, Kyrie, Curry and others to have some PE and other kicks that make your head turn. This month, we get to look forward to some Jordan Lows, a Yeezy, and Flyknit Racer that should be mighty popular in Charm City.
Air Jordan V Low "Neymar" - $200
Historically, I have not been a fan of this model, but if you cover the whole thing in 3M and it starts to change my mind a little bit. Jordan Brand bringing Neymar aboard surely signals their interest with getting into the soccer market. Hard to blame them for wanting some action from the most popular sport in the world. With Messi and Ronaldo already having sponsors, the young Brazilian star is a great name to be attached to. Look for his kicks to drop at select Nike retailers as well as on the SNKRS app.
Jordan XI Low "Navy/Gum" & "White/Red" - $170
Yea, I know. They don't come out until Saturday. Thought I'd share some in hand pictures and show everyone what they look like minus the Nike filters. I know that the white/red is the classic, but something about the gum sole on the navy pair really makes me think. Not sure I can pick a favorite between the two. Can you? If you're looking to pick up a pair, check most major retailers and on the SNKRS app.
Air Jordan I Retro High "Metallic Navy" - $160
This is a really clean version of the Jordan I. As summer begins, this is a fantastic time for these classic Js to release. We are getting more of that shiny leather that recently appeared on the "Letterman" colorway, but this pair takes us back 30 years. If you're looking to cop these, they will be available at most major retailers as well as the SNKRS app.
Under Armour Curry 2 "Gold Rings" - $130
Rings. As in plural. I guess UA is counting the NBA Finals as over and done with. Similar to the Curry 1 "Dubnation" colorway, this Curry model gets some gold to celebrate the championship he won last year and could potentially win this year. In addition, on the inside of the tongue you can find a championship ring with the "SC30" logo inscribed on the side. If you're a big Steph Curry fan, look for these to drop at most major retailers and on Under Armour's website.
Nike Flyknit Racer - $150
Hello! The increasingly popular Nike trainer made specifically for us Baltimore Orioles fans! Just kidding, but since they are mainly orange, its fun to think they were. It looks like there are some 3M accents across the shoe, so they may be a hit across the country and not just locally. All joking aside, they go perfectly with any O's gear and would be a great shoe to wear to the ballpark. If you're looking for a lightweight pair of shoes to match your Joey Rickard jersey, look for them to drop at most major retailers and on Nike.com
Adidas Yeezy 750 - $350
Yeezy season has returned. After 5 months of rumors and fake release dates, we finally have an official Yeezy release date. The third variation of the 750 goes back to the tan upper but this pair comes with the gum sole and it will also glow in the dark. Many people were clamoring for GITD features after the Nike Yeezy II basically set sneaker culture on fire with their GITD soles. Coming in half sizes for the first time, look fore more pairs to be available, but expect millions of people to be trying to get a pair. Without a doubt, they will be one of the toughest sneakers to get this year. Look for them to drop at Adidas.com and at select Adidas retailers across the world.
Air Jordan II Low "UNC" - $160
If only the Tar Heels would have played a bit better in that title game, fans could celebrate at cookouts all summer long in these UNC themed Jordan II Lows. Since they didn't, Chapel Hill residents and sneaker fans alike will just have to move on and settle for a clean colorway to represent their favorite school. I guess being the school where Michael Jordan began his legacy has some perks huh? I know @JohnnyCrabcakes is a BIG Tar Heels fan, so if you're reading this, I can grab you these shoes, and we can work out a deal for some crabcakes. For everyone else, if you're going to go after this pair, look for them to drop at most major retailers as well as on Nike's SNKRS app.
Air Jordan IX Low "Pantone" - $170
The always popular "Pantone" colorway has arrived on another Jordan model. I've mentioned before that the IX Low is not my favorite shoe, but "Pantone" is hard to say no to. One of my friends has what seems like 1,000 shirts with baby blue in it, so I know he will be happy when this pair hits stores. I won't name him on here, but I am pretty sure he knows I am talking about him. If you want to join him in his baby blue shoe glory, look for them to drop at most major retailers as well as on Nike's SNKRS app.
With Memorial Day in the rearview, the unofficial start of summer has come and gone. Don't forget to invite your favorite sneaker blogger to some cookouts. I like burgers and hot dogs just like you do. You can find me on the Twitter @Brut23, so don't be shy. If you want more info on releases, or think I missed one feel free to drop a line in the comments and let me know.
